Arkansas wall art is built on three things: the state capitol building, the Little Rock skyline over the Arkansas River, and the state flag with its diamond at the center. It is a small, focused range rather than a wide survey of the state, and every piece ties back to one of those three subjects.
Arkansas is the only US state to have produced diamonds commercially, and the flag marks that with a white diamond set inside a red field, itself bordered in blue with stars along the edges. Two versions appear here, one flat and one waving, alongside a piece that spells out the diamond and star pattern by name.
The capital city appears twice here at night, both times with its downtown lights reflected in the Arkansas River. That reflection is the reason these two pieces work as a pair rather than duplicates: one is titled for the state generally and one for Little Rock by name, but both frame the same river edge of the same skyline.
Unlike the river skylines, the state capitol piece is shot in plain daylight rather than at night, giving it a cooler, more neutral tone than the rest of the range. It is a single building portrait rather than a wide city view, so it holds up at a smaller size where a full skyline would not.
The river skyline pieces are horizontal bands of light and reflection, so they read best with some width, roughly two thirds of the furniture or door frame below them. The capitol building, being a single vertical structure within a horizontal frame, is more forgiving of a narrower spot such as a hallway or a stairwell landing.
The waving flag is the one piece offered as a panoramic canvas, which suits the long, low shape of fabric caught in motion. The skyline and capitol pieces are all standard horizontal canvases, and the flat flag piece steps into a square format instead, useful where neither a wide panoramic nor a tall vertical wall exists.
The night river pieces carry warm amber light against a dark blue sky, which suits a room already built on wood tones and low lamp light. The daylight capitol piece is the cooler option, and works better in a study or office with natural light than beside the warm river scenes.
As with several state ranges on this store, the flag pieces here are often chosen for what they represent rather than how they look on a wall, whether that is a gift for someone with Arkansas ties or a personal marker of home. Worth knowing before buying, since a flag canvas reads differently from a landscape once it is on the wall. It also tends to suit an office or entryway more than a living room, where a visitor sees it first rather than last.
Every piece in this collection ties directly to the state capitol, the Little Rock skyline or the state flag. That keeps the range consistent: every picture names the state through a building, a river city or its flag rather than through generic scenery.
For flag pieces from other states see flag wall art, for river photography nationwide see river wall art, and for the country as a whole see United States wall art.
Production begins once an order is placed, on museum quality canvas with archival ink resistant to fading, over a solid wooden inner frame, and the finished piece ships ready to hang with free shipping.
The Arkansas state capitol building in daylight, the Little Rock skyline reflected in the Arkansas River at night, and the state flag shown flat, waving and named for its diamond and star pattern.
Arkansas is the only US state where diamonds have been mined commercially, and the flag marks that fact with a white diamond at its center, set on a red field with a blue border carrying stars.
Little Rock, the state capital. Both night skyline pieces frame the same downtown stretch along the Arkansas River, one titled for the state and one for the city by name.
Amber and dark blue from the night river scenes, red, white and blue from the flag pieces, and a cooler neutral tone on the daylight capitol piece. Choose the capitol piece for a room that needs a calmer contrast.
It runs from 36 inches by 12 inches up to 73 inches by 24 inches, the same panoramic ladder used across the store's flag and landscape pieces in that format.
