Illinois Wall Art
Illinois wall art here means the Chicago skyline, photographed from Lake Michigan and from Navy Pier, at dusk, at night and under a blue hour sky, plus the Baha'i Temple in Wilmette, the state flag and seal, and a Land of Lincoln map. There is no rural downstate scenery in this range.
Nearly Every Piece Faces The Chicago Skyline
Most of the collection is one subject shot from a dozen angles: the lakefront skyline as seen from the water or from the shoreline path. Some frames pull back for the full row of towers, others isolate a single building against open sky. Repetition is not a flaw here, since a skyline reads differently depending on which building leads the frame and what the light is doing behind it.
The Willis Tower And Hancock Center Anchor The View
Willis Tower and the John Hancock Center are the two buildings that recur across the range, because their silhouettes are what makes the skyline identifiable rather than generic. A frame built around one of them works as a statement piece over a sofa or a desk, since the eye has a single tall shape to settle on instead of scanning a row of similar towers.
Navy Pier Adds Motion To A Still Skyline
Navy Pier brings the only moving parts into the range: a Ferris wheel and boats on the water, shot from an aerial angle that puts the pier's curve against the city behind it. It reads less as architecture and more as a scene, which makes it the softer choice for a family room where a bare tower shot can feel corporate.
The Baha'i Temple Is The One Suburban Landmark
North of the city in Wilmette stands the Baha'i House of Worship, a domed white temple on the shore of Lake Michigan, and it is the only landmark here that is not downtown Chicago. One frame shoots it from ground level beside the harbor, another from directly overhead, and the two barely look like the same building.
Twilight, Blue Hour And Full Night Read As Different Pictures
A twilight frame keeps a band of orange or blue in the sky above the towers, which softens the whole image. Blue hour pushes everything toward a single cool tone, buildings and water together. A full night version drops the sky to black and relies entirely on window lights and reflection, which makes it the most dramatic option and the one that needs a darker wall to read well against.
Buckingham Fountain And The State Symbols Stand Apart
Buckingham Fountain appears with the skyline behind it in several versions, day and night, and it is the one piece of civic architecture in the range rather than a building or a shoreline. The Illinois state flag and seal, plus a map labeled Land of Lincoln, are a different purchase again: bought for state pride, a gift or an office wall rather than for a view. They share a state with the skyline pieces, not a subject, so treat them as a separate decision.
Measuring A Skyline Against A Chicago Loft Wall
A skyline is a wide subject, so measure the furniture beneath the intended wall and aim for roughly two thirds of that width rather than picking a size in isolation. Undersizing a skyline loses the gaps between towers that give the picture its rhythm, so when in doubt choose the larger of two close sizes.
Choosing Between A Single Frame, A Panoramic Sweep And A Vertical Aerial
A single horizontal canvas suits a shot centered on one or two towers. A panoramic frame suits the full lakefront sweep, where the width carries the whole skyline without cropping it down. A vertical frame suits the aerial views, the Baha'i Temple from above and Navy Pier's curve, where height rather than width is the natural shape.
More Chicago, More Skylines Or A Different Shape Altogether
For a wider set of Chicago subjects beyond this range see Chicago wall art, for other cities entirely see city wall art, and for skyline photography from around the world see skyline wall art. The state pride pieces sit inside the wider flag wall art range.
How Each Canvas Is Made
Each piece is printed to order on museum quality canvas with archival inks that resist fading, stretched over a solid wooden inner frame and shipped ready to hang, with free shipping.
Common Questions
What does Illinois wall art actually show?
Almost entirely the Chicago skyline, shot from the lakefront and from Navy Pier at different times of day, along with the Baha'i Temple in Wilmette, the Illinois state flag and seal, and a Land of Lincoln map. There is no downstate countryside in the range.
Why are there so many versions of the same skyline?
Each frame changes the light, the lead building or the vantage point, so a dusk shot centered on Willis Tower and a night shot from Navy Pier read as different pictures despite sharing a subject. Pick by mood and by which building you want to lead the frame.
Is Navy Pier part of this collection?
Yes. Several pieces show Navy Pier's Ferris wheel and boats from an aerial angle, with the skyline in the background. It is the one subject in the range with visible motion rather than static architecture.
What size works for a Chicago skyline canvas?
About two thirds of the width of the furniture it hangs above, and larger rather than smaller, since a skyline loses definition between towers when it is undersized. A panoramic shape suits the widest lakefront views.
Which room suits a Chicago skyline canvas?
A living room, home office or loft with some depth to the wall, since these are wide, detailed pictures that benefit from viewing distance. A full night version needs a darker wall or indirect light to keep its contrast.
Let customers speak for us
from 385 reviewsSpeedy delivery, excellent framing, and canvas quality was beyond my highest expectations!
Being an IT professional, I loved the theme of the print. Colors are vivid and clarity is good.
Received picture and it is absolutely beautiful. Great quality. Will buy from here again.
Received as presented in the details on the website. Measurements were also accurate for each panel. Included hardware made hanging a breeze.
We love our canvas. I am very pleased with the fast delivery of he package, considering the time we live in now. I have received a package in perfect condition. Thank you Tiaracle. You are very good and trusted company.
Most items one buys on the internet arrives fine, etc. The challenge is when something goes wrong. My item was shipped to Chicago, and that buyer's item shipped to Hawaii. Hey it happens, but the service, follow up of Tiarcle was nothing short of excellent. They set profits aside (lost on these sales) as shipping from Hawaii to Chicago for the five panel, large was almost the cost of the item itself. I had to initially pay for the shipping but within 2 days, the credit appeared on my card.
If there is any apprehension in service, and what if you aren't satisfied, rest assured, this company goes above and beyond. Safeer, Customer Service Manager, was just amazing.
Mahalo.
Love it! Thank You!
