The picture is printed on museum quality canvas and stretched over a solid wooden inner frame, 1.25 inches deep, so the image continues around the sides and is fastened at the back. No outer frame, nothing between you and the picture. Every edge is finished, which is why it hangs flush and looks complete from any angle.

Lift and carry it by the wooden frame rather than pressing on the face, because the stretched canvas has give in it and a push from the front is how a dent happens.
