The construction it describes is conventional and clearly stated: poly-cotton canvas printed with giclee ink, hand-stretched over a wood frame, gallery-wrapped edges, and a pre-installed metal sawtooth hanger. It gives a photo resolution guide as well, with 2400 x 3600 pixels recommended and 1600 x 2000 pixels as the minimum. For a family photo or a wedding portrait, that is a complete service, and we do not try to beat it on the personal photo itself.

Where does Shutterfly stop?

The page states prints up to 36 x 36 inches, and it describes single canvases. It does not list a depth in inches, so check the builder before you plan a wall around it. It also does not sell finished artwork by artists or photographers on that page, because the product is your photo on canvas.

Delivery is not given as a number. The page says production and delivery vary by size, design and shipping method, and that the estimated date appears in your cart. We would take that at face value: read the date in the cart, not a rule of thumb from a review.

Which Shutterfly alternative suits a photo of your own?

Besides Shutterfly, two sellers on this list take an upload and treat it as a canvas product rather than a photo book. CanvasPop says on its canvas page that you upload an image, pick a suggested size, edge or frame, and then approve a print preview its designers email you before anything is printed.
