What are Walgreens canvas prints?

Walgreens canvas prints are photo products. You upload a picture in its builder, app or in-store kiosk, pick a size, and the canvas is printed from your file. Its canvas page describes the result as a customized image printed onto canvas and stretched onto a frame.

The page lists six canvas routes: canvas prints, framed canvas prints, color wrap canvas prints, split canvas prints, canvas sets and a browse-designs page. Color wrap puts a solid colored edge around the canvas so the whole image shows on the front. A newer hanging canvas is sold separately, in 24 x 36 and 36 x 24 inches, on a poplar wood frame with cotton twine.

Which sizes does Walgreens offer?

The unframed canvas page lists six sizes: 8 x 10, 11 x 14, 12 x 12, 16 x 20, 20 x 24 and 20 x 30 inches. The first four show a Same Day Pickup tag. The 20 x 24 and 20 x 30 sizes do not, so plan on shipping for those.

The page's size line reads 8 x 10 x 1.5, 11 x 14 x 1.5, 12 x 12 x 1.5 and 16 x 20 x 1.5, so the third number is the depth. Frame options on the framed page are black, chocolate and gold. The framed page describes a black polystyrene frame, which is a point to check before you plan a heavy frame look.

What is a Walgreens canvas made of?

Walgreens says its canvas is generally a cotton and polyester blend, roughly 0.017 inch thick and 320 to 340 grams per square meter, with a printable gesso coating that gives a matte finish. It says the prints are made in stores on large format inkjet printers from Epson, using pigment ink.

It also says the in-store canvas frames come from a supplier called Tracer, built from wood grown in the southeastern United States. The page makes a long fade claim for its ink, with permanence ratings "well in excess of 200 years" in dark storage. That figure is a lab rating for the ink, and the same page admits that canvas prints fade to some degree in direct light.

Pro tip: Hang a canvas out of direct sun whoever prints it. Walgreens's own page says fading depends on light exposure and on airborne cooking fumes, so a kitchen wall near the stove is the worst spot.

What is Walgreens good at?

Speed and convenience. A 16 x 20 canvas that you can collect the same day, from a store near you, is hard to beat when a photo is needed for a birthday or a memorial this week. The builder, app and kiosk all take a photo file, and the page says the resolution you need rises with the size.

It is also a sensible place to print a family photo, because the picture is yours and nobody else's art would do. We do not try to beat a drugstore lab at that job. Where do Walgreens canvas prints stop?

The limits are size, shape and subject. The largest single canvas on its page is 20 x 30 inches, which is 30 inches across when hung wide. On a sofa 72 inches long, the rule of two thirds calls for about 48 inches of art, so one 20 x 30 piece covers well under two thirds of that target.

Its split canvas page sells one arrangement, a set of three at 11 x 14 inches per panel, and says it suits landscapes and event photography. There is no panoramic canvas and no vertical canvas taller than 36 inches on the pages we read. And because the product is your photo, there is no artwork to choose from.

Watch out: A phone photo that looks sharp on screen can look soft at 20 x 30 inches. Walgreens's page does not give one pixel count for all sizes, so check the size guidance in its builder before you pay.

What is the Walgreens return policy for canvas prints?

Its photo return page, updated June 23, 2026, says your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed and that it will give a full replacement or a full refund if you are dissatisfied with prints or merchandise. For Same Day Pickup orders you visit the store with your receipt, and a refund within 30 days is a full one, while later returns go to a store refund card.

Mail orders go through its photo care line by phone, and the page says mail order items cannot be returned to a local store. It also offers a 2 hour window to cancel a mail order or ship to store order yourself. Read the page again before you order, since a policy updated this year can change again.
